Customers have been asking and the functionality is now live for all SalesDriver users at no additional cost.

Functionality to add Fees that are included by default, and required, fees and add-ons are helping operators communicate with customers during the booking process and make some of the fees that have historically been “built in” to prices more transparent.

While this functionality change may seem small to some, the truth is it’s another in a long line of firsts for the group travel market from TBN.

This change allows you to do two things.

First, create fees that are included by default-
Now you can choose to include fees that a customer sees as “pre-selected” during their booking process. The customer can, if they choose, deselect, or in some cases edit it, but if they don’t take a step, it will be included.

Imagine the power of including a driver gratuity at a pre-set percentage of the trip. Not only do most people simply leave it in, but even those that choose to remove it understand that tipping is an important part of their trip. This helps drive up driver take-home pay and can help operators ease the strain of driver shortages.

Second, create fees that are required-
Many companies who have historically baked in all of their fees, surcharges, and add-ons into a final price, are now looking for ways to make some of those fees more transparent to the customers. This required fees function does just that. At a moment when prices are going up all around us, slowing the rise of “base prices” and showing increases in places where customers know that prices are up is simply good business.

Now you can show your customers a per mile fuel surcharge as part of their online quote, require that they pay cleaning fees or overnight dump fees… the possibilities are endless.
